I noticed some changes this morning and I found an article saying that PageRank was updated on June 23/24, 2009:

Google PageRank Update : June 2009 (www.searchenginejournal.com)

Google PageRank (the visible toolbar PageRank that is) was updated around the web on the 23rd and 24th of June, changing the visible PageRank scores which appear on the toolbars of Google users all over the globe.

I saw an increase in a few sites that I watch and have. I thought this was interesting:

Google hands Bing a pagerank 9 (www.searchcowboys.com)

PageRank is all about inbound links. It's different from search results but the two are somewhat related. I've know of sites that have been around for years and still only have a PR of 2 while I can launch a new site and get a 2 or 3 with no problem, right off the bat. One of the best ways to get high PageRank is to have a good site with good information that people link to. Websites with funny content often have good PR since a lot of people link to those sites from their websites. This is, actually, what viral marketing is all about.

Another thing I thought of the other day that can increase PageRank is having an affiliate program running on your own website. If the affiliate links you provide to people have your domain in it (versus using a third party system), then you get the inbound link benefits.

If you're looking for a better PageRank, give us a call or contact us. We've got some strategies that can help. Remember that it's much easier to go from a PR1 to PR3 than to go from a PR5 to PR7.

Happy Friday!
