October Website Traffic Up

It seems like October has been a good month for website traffic so far. We host a number of sites and I have a few myself and in looking at the traffic reports, October seems to be a good month.

Part of the reason, at least locally, is that the weather isn't as nice. I've always noticed more website traffic during the colder months since people are indoors a lot more (even though I'm probably outdoors more in the winter since there's skiing to be had!). There's usually a big drop-off in traffic around late April and May because the weather gets nicer. A lot of the sites we host are for clients in the area, so that's why this phenomenon is pretty apparent to us.

This could be good for online retailers as we go into the Christmas shopping season. There are a lot of deals online. I have a few websites that sell Halloween costumes and those are up from last year for sure. And maybe this is one sign that the economy may be heading up.

If your website isn't up to date, it needs to be. People are hitting your website!
