Ok, so right now there's Twitter and it's amazing because it's real time. People love it. I use it a lot and it's great for doing Internet marketing.

Side Note: Please don't confuse marketing with Internet marketing or business plans. I've heard from some people that they needed help marketing and it turned out that they needed something even more foundational... a business plan. The result of research is a business plan, which drives your marketing and one part of marketing is Internet marketing. Just to be clear: your business plan drives your marketing - you need that first. If you don't know what your business does, it's impossible to market it, right? Sorry for the rant, back to my blog post...

But what if your blogs were as real time as Twitter? Well, they can be! It's here already and will be used a lot in the future. Get ready for it. It's kind of funny to think this but if you think information moves fast now, just wait. It's heading toward light speed!

Introducing... RSS Cloud. Ok, it has actually been in the RSS specification since 2001 but hasn't been used much. What is does is allow push notification that you have updated your blog. Right now, RSS readers check feeds every so often, which is the equivalent of checking your email account once or twice a day - how would we survive if that was the case? People would instead go to your blog post as soon as it has been posted if that's something they're looking for. Pretty cool, huh?

To me, that means you better be posting good content and you better check it over before you actually post it. You won't want to post it, see how it looks and continue working on it. It may be too late.

There aren't too many RSS readers that are using RSS Cloud yet but they will. Google Reader will have to adapt and I would bet that Google's search results would also have to keep up or Google would begin to look a bit slow.

There's a WordPress plugin for RSS Cloud now, so use that if you have a WordPress.org blog (one you host yourself). If you have a blog on WordPress.com (where WordPress hosts it), then you're already set because it's being used there already. We'll probably see it soon in Joomla and other kinds of CMS and web publishing software.

I just wanted to introduce this topic now because I think it's going to be a huge thing and here's more links on the subject - enjoy!

Happy Weekend!
-Tony
