How to Drive Traffic with Repeat Tweets (www.openforum.com)
...Fast forward to today. While there is still kumbaya going on via Twitter, many people are now using Twitter as a twool. They’re not trying to have a one-to-one conversation. At best, they want a one-to-many conversation if not out-and-out broadcasting in the advertising and marketing sense.
The other day, I found my original Twitter sign up email that they send to you. I saved it for some reason and it has been almost a year. A year ago, I had no idea of the potential of Twitter but now I get it. What I've found is, the more tweets the better but if you do that, you better have something good to say. So repeating tweets can work if it's a good topic. Twitter is really "here and now" and with so many voices out there, I think you need to repeat some tweets if you think they're beneficial for your followers.
How to Get Twitter Followers
I'll repeat that again... if you're tweeting to benefit your followers (have them in mind - not you), then you'll have followers. Center on a topic or industry or theme so that people know what they're going to get from you. Throw in some personal notes once in a while to make it human and personal. People like the personal touch.
How to Use Twitter
There's a whole kind of Twitter etiquette out there and I suggest you get familiar with it as you get tweeting - below are some links:

But remember that Twitter is still evolving. It's still new. Many people out there on the Web haven't even tweeted yet. So it'll change still and new features will come out and other websites with features will emerge.
Get a Twitter User Name(s) Now!
I do highly suggest you at least grab a good username because they're going fast. Think of a Twitter username as a domain name and they're free - so get an account for yourself and your company before it's taken. Seriously - right now. You may want to use it later - or should I say, you will need it later. Don't say we never suggested it. :-)
Be a Follower
Another way to get used to Twitter is to join and start following some people. See who they are following and follow them. Just watch how people are using it. It's fun.
Share the Love
If someone tweets something you like, then re-tweet ("RT") it and pass it on to others. Make sure you give the original poster credit though.
Have fun tweeting!

P.S. Here's a website that tweets the latest trending hot topics. Pretty interesting. A good one to follow.
