The Bell Rang a While Ago
If you’re coming late to class, you need to have a mobile-friendly website now. We’re seeing many websites now with 50% or more of their traffic coming from mobile devices. This is, of course, being fueled by the amount of mobile devices in the market. When the iPhone 6 came out, there was a flood of new and used phones in the market, which means more mobile devices in more hands and a surge in mobile traffic to websites.
Google is Pushing Mobile Friendly
Google is putting much more emphasis on websites that are set up to be mobile friendly – and it makes sense.
We say “think like Google” because Google (and other search engines) want to provide the best results. If they don’t, people will stop using Google, right? So if a search comes from a mobile device, Google will naturally want to give out results that work well on the device the search originates from.
This is Where You Come In
Is your website set up to work well on mobile devices?
If your website was made in the last 1-3 years, then there’s a great chance you’re already there. We haven’t made a non-mobile friendly website in a long time now. This is just the way it’s done now. We use responsive design for all new websites we make. This ensures the same design is responding to whatever screen size it’s being viewed on. Other sites out there might be using adaptive website design, which shows a different design that adapts to a mobile device. Using the same design (responsive) is the preferred method.
