You may have received an email like this from your WordPress website and don’t know what to do:<\/p>\n

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.<\/p>\n

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Jetpack by WordPress.com.<\/p>\n

First, visit your website (https:\/\/www.yourdomain.com\/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https:\/\/www.yourdomain.com\/wp-admin\/plugin-install.php) and check for any visible issues.<\/p>\n

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.<\/p>\n

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.<\/p>\n

This is a new feature from WordPress where there’s more tracking of errors to help you keep your website running smoothly.<\/p>\n

If you get this message, here is what you should do:<\/p>\n

  1. Don’t panic.<\/li>\n
  2. Go check your website’s home page and see if it loads fine. If it does, then there’s probably not a major issue but you should still get it checked into.<\/li>\n
  3. Contact your website developer or company doing your website maintenance for you and ask them for help. You may need to have your website database and\/or files restored from backup if there’s a big issue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Many times, if this happens, you need to go into Recovery Mode and then disable\/deactivate a plugin or several plugins in order to get your website back running again.<\/p>\n
