Since people visiting your site need to have the font installed on their computer to view your site in a specific font, below are the most common fonts that are available and the main fonts we use in web sites.

  • Size 3 is the default browser size.
  • Examples using point (pt) use CSS (stylesheets).
  • 8 point is too small and can't be read too well. It is just here for demonstration and should not be used.
  • The examples on this page are images, so your browser can't do any tricks and adjust them.
  • If it lists several fonts in a group, then the first font is used. If that font is not available, then the next in the group is used, etc.
  • These lists include Mac equivalents. To see how they look on a Mac, please click here.

If you're in the process of choosing a font for a Webstix project, then please tell us which you would like by telling us the font name and size. An example might be: "Verdana, 10 pt." You will be telling us the normal style of the font. The bold and italic styles are listed here so you can see how they look.
